Any Tonal Benefit of a Top Loader Tele Bridge

Any Tonal Benefit of a Top Loader Tele Bridge

Roundwounds through the body, flatwounds through the bridge?

Jul 15, 2021 · Personally? I tried stringing my '06 Carvin LB-20's Hipshot A bridge thru-body - once. With rounds (EB Hybrid Slinkys, IIRC). It was a Royal PITA; sorry, but unless I'm paid to put up with stuff like that - I won't. So, the Slinkys were reinstalled, top loader style, and that was the end of …

Any Tonal Benefit of a Top Loader Tele Bridge? | Page 4

Oct 23, 2014 · Not really sure, good point. I have not played a top load Tele yet to really be of any sound reason, I was just making a theory after reading a few people with the top loads say that their '10s feel like 9s' after switching from bottom to top load on the Tele.

Is there really a benefit with "sting-thru" vs toploading

Oct 31, 2019 · No perceivable difference (if any) in terms of either tonal quality or playing feel. Two practical benefits of thru-body: It reduces the stress on the little screws holding down the bridge in place by having the body itself support the pulling weight of the strings.

What Is A No-Load Tone Pot? | WIRED GUITARIST

May 08, 2017 · A " blower switch " is a toggle switch that when pressed down bypass all electronic controls, running the bridge pickup straight to the output jack. With a no-load pot, however, there is no switching required as the process is entirely automatic. On settings 0-9.9 it acts just like any other tone knob.

Fixed bridge- is there an advantage to upgrading? | Fender

Feb 21, 2013 · Apr 6, 2012. Location: Netherlands. Well, you may look for a top-loader bridge if you want to make some tonal difference. As for look& feel - there is still a possibility to change the string saddles to whatever you can imagine - stamped steel, die cast, even graph-tech or piezo! Violet, Feb 17, 2013.

top loading bridge for teles better! | The Gear Page

May 23, 2009 · My baja tele has a 59' style bridge with a top loading option. I had never strung it up that way before, always with the strings through the body. I have to say: I think Creston might be right. The tension seems better. It is easier to bend and if there is a loss in tone I certainly can't har it. If anything it might sound better this way.

Converting a Tele bridge to top load | Page 3 | The Gear Page

Feb 02, 2010 · I noticed the slinkier feel on the top strings immediately. I just got back from a 10 day vacation during which the only guitar I was able to play was a friend's Tele set up with .09s (I use 10.5-50), but even after playing only lighter strings the heavier strings on mine still felt slinkier than usual. I did not notice any tonal difference.

Does a Tele with a Bigsby still sound like a Tele? | The

May 14, 2017 · Jimmy page's tele was a top loader, and it still does the tele thing. I owned a tele with a jazzmaster bridge and a bigsby. The looseness of the JM bridge was evident and actually made the tele much more jazzmaster like! Most of those would probably benefit from switching to a mastery, as the JM does.

Mar 08, 2009 · Fender made these during the '80s and early '90s. I had one (a 1990) that looked exactly like this one from '90-'93. It was a great Tele. A lot of people don't like top-loading Teles, but I think they were great. The tone of mine was pure …

Loading strings through the top-loader bridge is a bit weird. The Affinity is not a string-through-body but rather a top-loader. That's not a problem and I in fact prefer that, but the way the strings are loaded takes a little getting used to. Other benefits of this Tele "Civilized" tone.
